Halloween Glory Days

"Care a lot, we care a lot!" *clap*clap*clap*clap*
"My horn can pierce the sky..."
"He's our friend and a whole lot more!"
Who says having a child should stop you from being awesome?

We were fortunate to have 3 separate occasions to show off our costumes this year. Poor Rob was a good sport as I was determined to get some decent pictures of us. Those who know me well know I take Halloween costumes pretty seriously. To me they are  like a piece of art... hey, it took time and planning to glue on all that unicorn hair!

And now, just for fun, here is some of my Halloween "portfolio" (obviously Rob didn't dress up when he was a missionary, although he did look pretty goofy every day of his mission... ha!):

2002: Teletubby

2003: Rainbow Brite (I still consider this my magnum opus of costumes; I did not know how to sew then so the costume was constructed completely with my trusty hot glue gun.)

2004: Mickey Mouse in London (with the best study abroad crew... we had to be creative with limited costume access. I still get angry when I think about my milk being stolen from the community fridge.)

2005: Wonder Woman (last Halloween as a single lady... fitting, right?)

2006: Treasure Trolls (because nude-colored one piece jumpsuits are so flattering)

2007: We were backpacking Europe so no costumes, but we did visit the Catacombs in Paris... spooky.

2008: Smurfs

2009: Care Bear and... Brown Bear

2010: I had planned for us all to be various woodland creatures, but it fell through when Fara's costume was GIANT on her tiny 3-week-old body... so we resorted to being bears again. I felt fine about that.

2012: ??? Ooh I just got excited thinking about dressing up in a new costume next year!

As evidenced, I love Halloween. I just wish I had an awesome Halloween dance party to go to right now. Halloween has the best dance music. Maybe next year I'll throw one. Would you like to come? I'll only let you in if you dress up.

  5. You always are so creative and come up with the best Halloween costumes! Love the cute pictures of your family this year. You deserve a dance party every Halloween but can I just tell you how much I try to avoid Halloween as a single person?? Slutty girls and guys using Halloween as an excuse to dress and act inappropriate. haha. Love you!

  6. I always feel really badly for people when I see them wearing rainbow brite costumes because they are ALWAYS a poor man's marisa.

  7. You are basically the queen of Halloween, both because of your creativity and your affinity for 80s/90s nostalgia costumes. And yes, your RB costume is really unparalleled.

    Also, I can't decide whose costume was more amazing in London--Joe's or Anthony's. It's a toss-up.
